Overall market for technical consumer goods
Overall TCG market
Moving forward in waves
The German market for technical consumer goods (TCG) is facing moderate stabilization in 2026 and 2027. After a phase of stagnation, during which market volume barely moved in 2025, a nominal revenue increase of 3.20% in total to around 96 billion euros is emerging for the period 2026 and 2027. However, this momentum is divided into two phases: While 2026 in particular will be dampened by a complex interplay of macroeconomic challenges and is expected to see only subdued growth of 1.00%, market growth is set to return in 2027 at 2.10%. Accordingly, the TCG sector in Germany will stabilize at a low level by the end of 2027. This modest upward trend is the result of a balancing act between profound geopolitical risks on the one hand and selective demand impulses on the other, which are increasingly complementing traditional, rational consumer behavior.
