In the previous article &#8220;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gfu.de\/en\/wellness-reimagined\/\">Rethinking Wellness<\/a><\/strong>&#8220;, we showed how strongly wellbeing is changing consumers\u2019 priorities. Now it goes one step further: away from quick fixes and toward genuine, proactive prevention. Today, we are all investing in preventive health solutions that identify problems before they even arise. Wearables and personal diagnostics in particular are driving this development \u2013 with annual growth of +13%<a href=\"#quellen\"><strong><sup>[1]<\/sup>\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>and +5%<a href=\"#quellen\"><strong><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/strong><\/a>, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Smartwatches are becoming as personal and indispensable as smartphones. The reason for this shift is clear: key health data is moving out of clinics and doctors\u2019 offices and directly into our pockets and onto our wrists. Smartwatches without SIM cards are gaining in importance, and fitness trackers are becoming natural everyday companions.<\/p>\n<p>Trust in digital health runs deep: 61% of wearable users trust the device data collected just as much as clinical results. A clear signal for brand manufacturers. Because the opportunities are no longer just in hardware \u2013 but in building digitally connected wellbeing ecosystems. Obesity rates are rising worldwide \u2013 in many industrialized countries, they are already above 60%<a href=\"#quellen\"><strong><sup>[2]<\/sup>\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>. Sleep problems are increasing significantly: 29%<a href=\"#quellen\"><strong><sup>[3]<\/sup>\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0of consumers say they have difficulty sleeping through the night and wake up over the course of three or more nights per week.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, awareness of taking responsibility for one\u2019s own health is growing: for example, 61%<a href=\"#quellen\"><strong><sup>[4]<\/sup>\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0of respondents in an NIQ Global Health &#038; Wellness survey say they want to exercise more over the next twelve months.<\/p>\n<p>And this is directly reflected in purchasing behavior.\u00a0\u00a0Light therapy products recorded growth of +5%1\u00a0\u2013 with daylight and wake-up lamps in particular seeing significant gains. For example, an oven that suggests recipes tailored to personal fitness goals.
