Only the private IT product segment (+0.3%, around 3 billion euros) was able to stop the decline in sales from the first quarter of 2019.

The number of TVs sold declined by 1.5% to 3 million units, while the average price of all televisions sold fell by 8.7% to 564 euros. In the home audio segment, sales decreased by 6.5% to 476 million euros. With sales of 531 million euros (+20.2%), the audio and video accessories segment bucked the trend and continued its growth in the first half of 2019.

In the private telecommunications segment, core wearables saw a significant growth in revenue of 401 billion euros and strong growth of 42.8% over the same period in the previous year. The number of units sold increased (over 2.3 million devices, +37%), as did the average price (171 euros, +4.3%). Despite an increase in the average price of smartphones to 487 euros (0.7%), there was a 6.6% (4.8 billion euros) decline in sales as the number of smartphones sold was lower at about 9.9 million devices (-7.2%).

With strong tablet device sales (+7.5%), monitors (+12%) and printers (+3.4%), the private IT products segment was able to stop the decline.

Both household appliance segments showed a positive trend in the first half of 2019: large electrical appliances recorded a 1.7 increase in sales to 4.3 billion euros, while small electrical appliances grew by 7.1% to 2.6 billion euros.
