Developments in the three CE segments were mixed: privately used telecommunications products generated revenue of just under 3.5 billion euros, a decline of 5.2 percent. Consumer electronics, by contrast, posted slight growth and reached revenue of 1.8 billion euros, corresponding to an increase of 1.9 percent. The market for privately used IT products also developed positively, reaching around 1.7 billion euros in revenue – an increase of 4.5 percent compared with the previous year.</p>\n</div>\n </div>\n\n \n </div>\n</section>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block block--spacer block--spacer-50 block--bg-transparent\" style=\"height: 50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n </div>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block block--text block--bg-transparent block--pad-none block--text--layout-split block--text--text-anthrazit block--text--no-button\">\n <div class=\"container block__inner\">\n\n <div class=\"text__content\">\n \n <h2 class=\"text__heading\">Consumer electronics: TV market growing, video games under pressure, and photo and audio markets subdued but stable</h2>\n <div class=\"text__body\"><p>Consumer electronics generated revenue of 1.8 billion euros in the first quarter of 2025 (+1.9% compared with Q1/2024). This growth was driven in particular by the TV business: sales of TV displays rose by 15.4 percent to around 1.2 million units, while the average selling price declined slightly. The resulting revenue amounted to 770 million euros (+7.5%). By contrast, the market for video game consoles declined: unit sales fell by 25.2 percent, with revenue decreasing accordingly by 23.4 percent. </p>\n<p>Digital cameras recorded a 9.6 percent increase in unit sales, while revenue rose by 3.1 percent. Revenue from interchangeable lenses was also positive at 4.9 percent. In the home audio segment, however, revenue declined by 5.1 percent. A significant decline was recorded in particular for audio home systems (-22.6%) and smart audio (-11.4%), while loudspeakers increased revenue by 4.1 percent.</p>\n</div>\n </div>\n\n \n </div>\n</section>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block block--spacer block--spacer-50 block--bg-transparent\" style=\"height: 50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n </div>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block block--text block--bg-transparent block--pad-none block--text--layout-split block--text--text-anthrazit block--text--no-button\">\n <div class=\"container block__inner\">\n\n <div class=\"text__content\">\n \n <h2 class=\"text__heading\">Telecommunications: Smartphone market slightly down</h2>\n <div class=\"text__body\"><p>Revenue in the telecommunications segment, at just under 3.5 billion euros, was 5.2 percent below the previous year. HEMIX contains current market information from the sources of the participating, expert partners.</p>\n<p>Based on volume and value, HEMIX shows the quarterly market development in Germany. The home electronics market is firmly and uniformly defined as the sum of sales in Germany to private consumers.</p>\n<p>You can find the complete HEMIX data here: <a href=\"https://gfu.de/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HEMIX-Q1-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HEMIX</a></p>\n</div>\n </div>\n\n \n </div>\n</section>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block block--spacer block--spacer-50 block--bg-transparent\" style=\"height: 50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n </div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block block--divider block--divider--width-60 block--divider--align-left block--divider--pad-normal block--bg-transparent\" style=\"--divider-color: var(--color-anthrazit);--divider-thickness: 2px\" role=\"separator\">\n <div class=\"container block--divider__inner\">\n <div class=\"block--divider__line\" aria-hidden=\"true\"></div>\n </div>\n</div>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block block--text block--bg-transparent block--pad-none block--text--layout-split block--text--text-anthrazit block--text--no-button\">\n <div class=\"container block__inner\">\n\n <div class=\"text__content\">\n <p class=\"text__eyebrow\">Further information from:</p>\n \n \n <div class=\"text__body\"><p><strong>GFU Consumer &#038; Home Electronics GmbH</strong><br />\nDr. Sara Warneke (Managing Director), Tel. 069 509293 411, sara.warneke@gfu.de,<br />\nMarie-Charlotte von Heyking (Head of PR &#038; Communications), Tel. 069 509293 414, marie.vonheyking@gfu.de</p>\n<p><strong>GfK/NIQ</strong><br />\nAndreas Peplinski, Tel. 0911 395–4802, Andreas.Peplinski@nielseniq.com<br />\nwww.gfk.com</p>\n</div>\n </div>\n\n \n </div>\n</section>\n"
