This means that the stabilization of the home electronics market in Germany is continuing. As in previous quarters, developments in the individual market segments varied greatly.</p>\n</div>\n </div>\n\n \n </div>\n</section>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block block--spacer block--spacer-50 block--bg-transparent\" style=\"height: 50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n </div>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block block--text block--bg-transparent block--pad-none block--text--layout-split block--text--text-anthrazit block--text--no-button\">\n <div class=\"container block__inner\">\n\n <div class=\"text__content\">\n \n <h2 class=\"text__heading\">Development in Consumer Electronics</h2>\n <div class=\"text__body\"><p>With revenue of just under 13.2 billion euros, the Consumer Electronics (CE) sector recorded a decline of 1.6 percent in the first half of 2025 compared with the same period of the previous year. Of the three CE segments, only privately used IT products (with revenue of around 2.9 billion euros) were able to achieve growth, at 2.6 percent. Consumer electronics recorded a decline of 1.3 percent to just under 3.4 billion euros in revenue. Privately used telecommunications products also developed negatively, generating revenue of just under 6.9 billion euros, a decline of 3.4 percent.</p>\n<p>In the consumer electronics sector, televisions generated revenue of just under 1.3 billion euros (-6.8 percent) in the first half of 2025, while the number of units sold remained at the previous year&#8217;s level at just under two million TV sets. The home audio segment recorded a revenue decline of 9.1 percent to 308 million euros. Sales in the photography segment developed positively: action cams (+11.2 percent), digital cameras (+5.5 percent), and interchangeable lenses (+2.5 percent) generated revenue growth, each with increased unit sales. With revenue of 693 million euros (-1.1 percent), the audio/video accessories product category remained slightly below the previous year&#8217;s result. Video game consoles, on the other hand, developed encouragingly, recording revenue growth of 23.7 percent to 321 million euros in the first half of 2025.</p>\n<p>Among privately used telecommunications products, smartphones, as the largest product group in this segment, showed declines in both revenue and unit sales: just under 8.2 million smartphones sold (-6.6 percent) generated a revenue decline of 3.5 percent to 6.2 billion euros. At the same time, the average price rose to 759 euros (+3.4 percent). Core wearables recorded a sales increase of 3.9 percent to just under 2.6 million units, albeit with an average price that was six percent lower. </p>\n<p>In the area of privately used IT products, the upcoming end of support for Windows 10 is already having a positive impact on revenue development. Thus, 29.1 percent more desktop PCs were sold, resulting in revenue growth of 25.8 percent. Notebooks also recorded positive, though less pronounced, development: unit sales increased by 8.5 percent, with revenue up 6.6 percent. Only revenue from tablet PCs in this category declined, by 8.3 percent, also due to average prices being nine percent lower. Monitors, by contrast, showed increases in revenue (+1.7 percent) and unit sales (+6.1 percent).</p>\n</div>\n </div>\n\n \n </div>\n</section>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block block--spacer block--spacer-50 block--bg-transparent\" style=\"height: 50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n </div>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block block--text block--bg-transparent block--pad-none block--text--layout-split block--text--text-anthrazit block--text--no-button\">\n <div class=\"container block__inner\">\n\n <div class=\"text__content\">\n \n <h2 class=\"text__heading\">Development in Electrical Household Appliances</h2>\n <div class=\"text__body\"><p>The two electrical household appliance segments continued to develop differently in the first half of 2025. Large electrical appliances saw a revenue decline of 1.4 percent to just under 4.6 billion euros. Small electrical appliances, on the other hand, once again recorded growth of 2.6 percent to 3.3 billion euros in revenue.</p>\n<p>The market figures for the HE industry are collected jointly and uniformly for all market participants by the industry organization gfu Consumer &#038; Home Electronics GmbH and the market research company NIQ in the form of the official Home Electronics Market Index HEMIX and published for each quarter. The HEMIX contains current market information from the sources of the participating, competent partners.</p>\n<p>Based on volume and value, the HEMIX shows the quarterly market development in Germany. The home electronics market is firmly and uniformly defined as the sum of sales in Germany to private consumers.</p>\n<p>You can find the complete HEMIX data <a href=\"https://gfu.de/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HEMIX-Q1-2-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>here</strong></a>.</p>\n</div>\n </div>\n\n \n </div>\n</section>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block block--divider block--divider--width-60 block--divider--align-left block--divider--pad-normal block--bg-transparent\" style=\"--divider-color: var(--color-anthrazit);--divider-thickness: 2px\" role=\"separator\">\n <div class=\"container block--divider__inner\">\n <div class=\"block--divider__line\" aria-hidden=\"true\"></div>\n </div>\n</div>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block block--text block--bg-transparent block--pad-none block--text--layout-split block--text--text-anthrazit block--text--no-button\">\n <div class=\"container block__inner\">\n\n <div class=\"text__content\">\n <p class=\"text__eyebrow\">Further information from:</p>\n \n \n <div class=\"text__body\" style=\"font-size: var(--text-sm)\"><p><strong>GFU Consumer &#038; Home Electronics GmbH</strong><br />\nDr. Sara Warneke (Managing Director), Tel. 069 509293 411, sara.warneke@gfu.de<br />\nMarie-Charlotte von Heyking (Head of Communications &#038; PR), Tel. 069 509293414, <a href=\"mailto:marie.vonheyking@gfu.de\">marie.vonheyking@gfu.de</a></p>\n<p><strong>NIQ</strong><br />\nAndreas Peplinski, 0911 395–4802, Andreas.Peplinski@nielseniq.com<br />\n<a href=\"https://nielseniq.com/global/de/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https://nielseniq.com/global/de/</a></p>\n</div>\n </div>\n\n \n </div>\n</section>\n"
