According to the survey “Health Tech in Bloom? From Wellbeing to Longevity,” 90 percent of respondents worldwide own at least one device that supports personal health. More than one in four respondents even has five or more health-tech devices. Wearables are the most widespread, led by smartwatches. Smart scales, fitness trackers, and blood pressure monitors are also very popular. In China, such health technology is used most frequently: seven out of ten people (70 percent) own five or more devices. In Germany, this is the case for one third (33 percent). For the study, around 4,000 people in six countries were surveyed – in addition to Germany and China, also in Brazil, India, South Korea, and the USA. In Germany, around 1,000 people took part in the representative survey.</p>\n<p>In Germany and Brazil, an above-average number of people said they were stressed (72 percent). The perceived stress level is significantly lower in China (55 percent) and the USA (56 percent). The vast majority in China (95 percent) and India (91 percent) plan to purchase a new health-tech device within a year. In Germany (58 percent) and the USA (55 percent), the figure is still slightly more than half. In addition, three quarters of respondents worldwide plan to replace at least one device within the next twelve months.</p>\n</div>\n </div>\n\n \n </div>\n</section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block block--media block--pad-normal block--bg-transparent block--media--source-image block--media--fit-cover block--media--width-container\">\n <div class=\"container media__wrapper\">\n\n <figure class=\"media__figure\">\n\n <div class=\"media__frame\">\n <img class=\"media__image\" src=\"https://gfu.de/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Infografik-HealthTech_Bloom_EN-scaled.webp\" alt=\"Infographic Health Tech\" width=\"3840\" height=\"2160\" loading=\"lazy\">\n \n </div>\n\n \n </figure>\n\n </div>\n</section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block button-block button-block--align-left block--pad-none\">\n <div class=\"container button-block__inner\">\n <a class=\"btn btn--primary\" href=\"https://gfu.de/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/260623-Infografik-HealthTech_Bloom_EN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Download infographic</a> </div>\n</section>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block block--spacer block--spacer-50 block--bg-transparent\" style=\"height: 50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n </div>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block block--text block--bg-transparent block--pad-none block--text--layout-split block--text--text-anthrazit block--text--no-button\">\n <div class=\"container block__inner\">\n\n <div class=\"text__content\">\n \n \n <div class=\"text__body\"><p>Between June 2025 and May 2026, spending on personal health goals per person in the countries examined averaged 400 euros per year. One quarter of spending is attributable to health-tech devices; in addition, apps, gym subscriptions, dietary supplements, and spa treatments are also highly popular – medical operations and treatments were not included in the survey. Spending patterns in the health-tech sector point to a stable and growing market. This shows that the segment represents an important building block in an already existing and growing ecosystem and should not be regarded as a short-term trend.</p>\n<p>In terms of per capita spending, Germany ranks second at 390 euros, closely followed by the USA (360 euros) and Brazil (330 euros), but significantly behind China (600 euros). Respondents in China and India in particular (55 and 54 percent, respectively) supplement a device purchase with a subscription, for example for personal health tips or comprehensive data analysis, thereby leading the subscription trend. Germany is in the middle of the field here (24 percent). Around half of consumers in the key international markets (49 percent) said they wanted to increase their spending on personal health. India is proving to be a growth market in this respect, at 73 percent.</p>\n</div>\n </div>\n\n \n </div>\n</section>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block block--spacer block--spacer-50 block--bg-transparent\" style=\"height: 50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n </div>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block block--text block--bg-beige block--pad-normal block--text--layout-split block--text--text-anthrazit block--text--no-button block--inset block--rounded\">\n <div class=\"container block__inner\">\n\n <div class=\"text__content\">\n \n \n <div class=\"text__body\"><p>When asked about their motivation for using health tech, more than half (55 percent) of respondents worldwide say they want to keep an eye on their health, feel good and healthy, and lead a long and healthy life, reflecting the current longevity trend. Looking at the individual countries, clear differences can be observed. The longevity aspect is particularly pronounced in the USA and China – the second most important goal after optimizing one’s own performance. In Germany and South Korea, respondents are primarily concerned with feeling good and healthy. In India, by contrast, the main concern is protecting oneself from environmental influences, while in Brazil and China the focus is particularly on maintaining one’s own health.</p>\n</div>\n </div>\n\n \n </div>\n</section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block block--stimmen block--pad-normal block--bg-transparent block--stimmen--image-left block--stimmen--single block--pause-on-hover\" data-stimmen-slider=\"1\" data-autoplay-speed=\"8\">\n\n \n <div class=\"container stimmen__inner\">\n\n \n <div class=\"stimmen__stage\">\n\n <div class=\"stimmen__slides\" role=\"group\">\n <article class=\"stimmen__slide is-active\" data-slide-index=\"0\" aria-hidden=\"false\">\n <div class=\"stimmen__avatar\">\n <img class=\"stimmen__avatar-img\" src=\"https://gfu.de/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/portrait-2026-carine-chardon-1024x1024.webp\" alt=\"Carine Chardon\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1663\" height=\"1663\" /> </div>\n \n <div class=\"stimmen__body\">\n <p class=\"stimmen__meta\">\n <strong class=\"stimmen__name\">Carine Chardon</strong>\n <span class=\"stimmen__role\">Managing Director of GFU Consumer &amp; Home Electronics</span>\n </p>\n\n <blockquote class=\"stimmen__quote\"><p>»Health tech is an integral part of people’s everyday lives worldwide.
